Notes - A Michael Maher / Mahar was convicted in Chester, 1st April 1843, of stealing in a dwelling house. He was given a 15 year sentence and eventually moved to the prison hulk "Warrior" on the Thames in London, with the likelihood of being transported. On 19 th July 1849 he was pardoned and released from prison. This does not appear to be the Michael Maher married to Bridget Corcoran since they are recorded as having their child, Anne, baptised in 1847
